Training of District Steering Groups
Written by Administrator
District Steering Groups (DSGs) are responsible for coordination of drought management at the district level. The DSGs are composed of representatives from Government line ministries and local authorities, MPs, NGOs, CBOs, and other local stakeholders. They are sub-committees of the District Development Committee (DDC) and are chaired by District Commissioners.
This was mainly through specific training courses aimed at transferring skills in the area of coordination for drought management and food security. Over the implementation period, DMI has carried out training of 68 DSGs with the participation of about 1,700 district officials.
